Is Africa Winning the Fight Against Childhood Malnutrition?

Around 14 million fewer children under the age of five were short for their age, a condition known as stunting, in 2014 than in 2006, according to the Public Health Foundation of India’s nutrition report.

Nevertheless, the foundation says, the country is still home to the world’s largest population of stunted children. Close to 40 million Indian children under the age of five are shorter than they should be. A further 17 million suffer from an acute lack of nutrition.
